Irrua:- It was pandemonium two nights ago at the Assembly of God Church, Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, when five armed men stormed the Church in a commando style and abducted a 32 year old man during their evening service, shooting sporadically in the air.

The victim who was identified as Mr. Stephen Masade has been a strong member of the church and was taking refuge in the church after an encounter with some ocultic persons who wanted to force him into being a member since his father went blind.

According to a reliable source, the cult members made life unbearable for him and brutalized him on several occasions, even shot at him on the leg.

It was gathered that after reporting the case to the Police and no arrests were made due to the fact most Police officers happen to be members of the said group, he decided to take refuge in the church hoping that it will deter.

The Pastor of the church, Apostle Jonah Ebhogele expressed shock at the incident, wondering why people do not have the fear God anymore. He said that the members present were made to lie down on the floor while they fish out the victim Mr. Stephen and whisked him away. There was no exchange of words to ascertain the motive behind the adoption, even though he knew that Mr. Stephen was having some kind of challenges with cult people.

As at the time of filing this report, no ransom or demand has been made and his whereabout still unknown.
