Idumuesah (Agbor) – The cycle of violence and insecurity presently engulfing the nation seem to be on an ever upward spiral.
Reports reaching our news desk from Idumuesah, close to Agbor in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, has it that a building in the village was recently razed down by arsonists who were rumoured to be hired killers.
According to a source that pleaded anonymity, the men were sent to kill a young man identified as Amah Collins Ephraim. The young boy was said to have escaped from the assailants under miraculous circumstances. The assailants allegedly set fire to the house and a aunt of the said Amah Collins Ephraim who was identified as Faith Amah died in hospital from burns sustained from the fire.
According to our investigation, trouble started last year when the young man, Amah Collins Ephraim, allegedly impregnated the daughter of a powerful Kano politician.
Our investigation revealed that the said Amah Collins Ephraim, while on a prolonged visit to Kano, has met and fallen in love with the daughter of a prominent Kano politician ( name withheld).
The relationship was staunchly opposed by the parents of the girl who were manifestly against their daughter dating a non-Muslim.
The parents of the girl were said to be apoplectic when they heard of the pregnancy of their daughter at the hand of the said Amah Collins Ephraim leading the young boy to flee from Kano.
The daughter of the prominent politician identified as Abdulah Sara, however died while delivering the baby sometime in September last year.
Our investigation further reveals that following the death of the young girl, the parents sent for the said Amah Collins Ephraim to come and participate in the burial of the girl which he obliged only to be subjected to dehumanising ordeals.
According to a close source that pleaded anonymity, the said Amah Collins Ephraim was ordered by the father of the girl to sleep with the dead body of the young girl for alleged ritual purposes for three days. The young man allegedly escaped after the first night and was subsequently tracked to his village of Idumuesah near Agbor .
As at press time, the whereabouts of the young man is yet to be ascertained as he has gone into hiding for fear of his life as the father of the late girl has vowed to eliminate him.
Meanwhile the body of the deceased Amah Faith has been deposited in a mortuary while about two other occupants of the razed house are said to have been discharged from the hospital after suffering minor burns.
It is, however, hoped that the said Amah Collins Ephraim is still alive as our investigation reveals that the prominent Kano politician has placed a bounty on his head.
