…Whereabout of Livestock farmer Adegor Jonah Unknown

BORNO-The whereabout of a Lifestock/Poultry farmer, Mr. Adegor Jonah has become a mystery as he is nowhere to be found after the gruesome and bloody attack of Dalori Village, four  kilometers away from Maiduguri, Borno State capital by Bandits on January 30, 2016

According to a reliable anonymous source close to the farmer, who narrated the whole story in a very sober mood said that Jonah’s problem actually started from his childhood. He said Jonah, is from the royal family of Jesse in Delta State, whose grand mother was banished from home, with the allegation of killing her husband, the king, when his own father was only 14 years old.

The grand mother, Ejiro later left with her son on the invitation of her very close friend, Blessing Udo to join her to stay in Dalori Village in Borno State, since everything were already lost. His father Emmanuel Adegor was born in Dalori, grew up there and became a very big and strong animal farmer, well known in the community.

His own father who was suppose to be the next king of Jesse also got married to an orphan woman, also from Delta State whose parents died in a motorcycle accident when she was aged nine years. They later had himself and his kid sister, Anabel Adegor.

His parents tried to educate him up to a higher level of education at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State to acquire Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administrations after his primary and secondary education before the father died in January 2012

As he Jonah  was growing up, his father warned him never to visit his home town as his experience, when he went there  and to see how he can reclaim his birthright throne, when he visited some years ago, he was lucky to leave alive as he was given only twenty four hours to leave or be sacrificed for the gods of the land, because he was regarded and treated as an outcast.

The source also added that something tragic happened to him, while he was a student at Auchi Poly on January 17, 2013, preparing for his final year exam. He was on his way to read in the school library, two huge and treacherous looking armed men followed him behind and stopped him calling on his name. They caught up with him and start leading him to their slaughter den as killers Jonah succeeded in boldly attacking the one pointing the gun at him, pushing him to the other to fall and then had the opportunity to escape. He later got to know that the killer were from his Jesse.

He then ran straight to his friend’s house to hide as the friend Gani Oseni advised him not to go to his hostel for fear of reprisal. He then passed the night with him. The following day they both went to the hostel, only to see that the hoodlums had come to vandalize his hostel with a view to actualize their mission. He was then advised not to enter the hostel again before surrounding up, since his life is in great danger.

Afterall, he went for his national youths service (NYSC)in Plateau State. He finished the youth service in February 2015 and relocated to his home in Dalori to take over his father’s well established animal farms business, dealing in chickens, goats and pig in commercial level

He and his family were living comfortably well until that fateful January 30, 2016 when his village base in Dalori was attacked. Another family friend source in a village near Dalori that also relayed another part of the story of the attack to our correspondent, who wouldn’t want his identity revealed for fear of victimization, said the attackers who appeared in a two vehicles and motorcycles heavily loaded with arms and ammunitions arrived at 7pm. They started shooting sporadically, killing any living thing on sight both old and young and also bombing and burning houses and farms.

While this was going on Mr. Adegor Jonah was in the livestock farm near the house feeding the animals there he started hearing the shouting and wailing of the people. He hid himself there, knowing fully well that he is one of the targets of the attack. Everybody in the village at home, parents including chicken were all killed. Before the arrival of the soldiers, who came later to engage them in a shootout, before they escaped.

When Jonah came out of the bush, he discovered that everything were gone. His sister lying dead in front of their house that was already burnt down. He then called  and joining his best friend, Gani Oseni in the nearby village,  who also rescued  him way back at school in Auchi, when he was also attacked by his kingsmen from Jesse to take refuge there.

The source also revealed that he was in that near by village until early this February hiding in his friend’s house. The whole problem was still raging on as his kingsmen in Jesse were still looking for his head for fear of launching an attack  to reclaim his late father’s  throne back by any means, now that he is educated and exposed and suppose to be his turn.

The source concluded that whether the enemies have succeeded in capturing and killing him or he had also escaped from the village to another town far away, nobody can tell. Even his friend Gani Oseni that he has been staying with is also not even seen around again too.
