Benin city – The Edo State Head of Service, Mrs. Gladys Osaretin Idahor has challenged the women folk to demonstrate dexterity in the execution of their assigned responsibilities.
Mrs. Idahor gave this advice when the Executive members of the National Council of Women Societies, Edo State Branch paid her a courtesy call.
She urged women in positions either as political appointees, nominated or career Civil Servants to see their positions as a huge opportunity to advance the course of mankind.
Mrs. Idahor told her visitors that she owes her appointment to God first and the Comrade Governor and promised not to betray her constituency.
She counselled the Society to bring issues before her, assuring that she will gladly attend to them as long as they fall within the ambit of the law.
The Head of Service used the occasion to extol the Comrade Governor for his development strides, saying that the construction of the Ultra Modern hospital is another sight to behold. She revealed that when the hospital is commissioned and put into use, the Mega hospital will save the country foreign exchange and no Nigerian would go out seeking Medical help.
Mrs. Idahor said she is highly elated by the visit and the advice given to her. She promised to run an open door administration, assuring further that she will remain focused to achieve the purpose of her appointment.
Addressing the Head of Service earlier, the President, National Council of Women Societies, Edo State Branch, Mrs. Omoluru Aigbekhae Eniye said they were in the office of the HOS to share in her celebration and success story as a woman.
While thanking the Comrade Governor for her appointment, the President NCWS said the society formed in 1958 is an umbrella body for all women societies in Nigeria. She disclosed that the Head of Service will be invested as a member in a later date.
