Benin city – Edo State Government has said that it will initiate measures aimed at revamping Bendel Newspapers Company Limited (BNCL), publisher of the Observer titles.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Kassim Afegbua disclosed this yesterday while addressing staff and management of the company at its corporate headquarters in Benin City.
The Commissioner who was on a familiarization visit to the premier newspaper house in company of Principal Staff of the ministry noted that BNCL has all the human resources to make the OBSERVER newspapers stand out.
He informed the staff and management that as stakeholders in Edo State, high level of commitment was required of them towards making the government to succeed as well as taking the newspapers to greater height.
The commissioner also sued for better work attitude, in order to add value to the publications.
According to him The Nigerian Observer is a brand that was well read across the country, expressing the need to return it to its enviable number one position among print media in the country.
The commissioner had earlier gone round on an inspection of the various sections and department of the company.
