HOMOSEXUALITY is evil. A homosexual orientation is a grave moral disorder within the human person. It is a result of the sinfulness of the individual and of groups of individuals. Anyone who has a homosexual orientation has severely damaged human nature
Since the human person is often influenced by other individuals and society in general, some of the blame is on the individuals and society in general. It is never the case that a person with homosexual orientation is without any personal culpability. The Bible in both the old and New Testament teaches against homosexuality as it is always a serious moral disorder within the human person. Do not be led astray by the pervasive false teachings of modern society.
No one is born homosexual, nor is there a gene or set of genes that makes someone into a homosexual. Each human person has free will, so our genetics and other factors with which we are born can never nullify free will Any act that is freely chosen by human person is a result of free will not birth or genetics. Homosexual act is s a result of free will. Thus, these acts are sins for which each is personally responsible.
Homosexuality is an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic and sexual attractions to people of the same sex. It is a person’s sense of identity based one those attractions, related behaviour and membership in a community of others who share those attraction. Along with bisexuality and heterosexuality, homosexuality is one of the three main categories of sexual orientation within the heterosexual.
There is no substantive evidence which suggests parenting or early childhood experience play a role when it comes to sexual orientation. Scientific research has shown that homosexuality is a normal and natural variation in human sexuality and is not in and of itself a source of negative psychological effects. Most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation and there is insufficient evidence to support the use of psychological intervention to change sexual orientation.
The first record of possible homosexual couple in the history of Africa was a couple commonly regarded as khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum, an ancient Egyptian male couple, who lived around 2400 BC. The pair are portrayed in a nose-kissing position, the most intimate pose in Egyptian art surrounded by what appear to be their heirs. It was also reported that women in Lesotho engaged in socially sanctioned “long term erotic relationship” called notsoalle.
Sexual orientation probably is not determined by any one factor but by a combination of genetic, hormonal and environmental influences. In recent decades, biologically based theories have been favoured by experts. Although there continues to be controversy and uncertainty as to the genesis of the variety of human sexual orientations, there is no scientific evidence that abnormal parenting, sexual abuse, or other adverse life events influence sexual orientation. Current knowledge suggests that sexual orientation is usually established during early childhood.
Having known all about homosexuality, what do we Nigerians think about homosexual acts? Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transferee (LGBT) persons in Nigeria face unique legal and social challenges not experienced by non – LGBT residents. There is no legal protection against discrimination in Nigeria. A largely conservative country of more than 170 million people split between mainly Muslim north a largely Christian south.
Both male and female same sex sexual activity is illegal in Nigeria. The maximum, punishment in the twelve northern states that have adopted chains law is death by stoning. The law applies to all Muslims and to those who have voluntarily converted to application of the chain’s courts. In southern Nigeria and under the secular criminal laws of northern Nigeria, the maximum punishment for same-sex sexual activity is 14 years imprisonment. The same sex marriage prohibition Act criminalizes all forms of same-sex unions and some-sex marriage throughout the country.
According to the 2007 pew Global Attitudes project, 97 percent of Nigerian residents believe that homosexuality is a way of life that society should not be accepted which was the second highest rate of non-acceptance in the 45 countries surveyed. By 2015, this percentage decreased to 87%. As of the same period, the percentage of Nigerian show agree LGBT persons should receive education, health care and housing is 30%.
Even though Nigerians are guilty or one of the corrupt countries in the world has held her ground when it comes to homosexuality Nigeria is a blessed land and God loved us so my much. When God was creating the earth and then he created a man and created woman out of the rib of man. He told man that the woman is his companion. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh” Genesis 2 vs. 24. When God said that he did not say man and man will form one flesh or woman and woman will form one flesh but he said ‘man’ and woman will form one flesh. The Bible stands strictly against homosexual acts. Example, in Leviticus 18 vs. 22, it says “thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with woman kind, it is abomination”. Leviticus 20 vs. 13 says “if a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, they shall surely be put to death, their blood upon them”. In Jude 1 vs. 7. “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
If we commit fornication or adultery we do not sin against God alone but we sin against our own body. Let alone committing homosexuality. Homosexuality is an evil act and if you know someone doing it, you have to stop them or report them to the police because it is not a good act at all.
Little wonder then that, shock waves grip members in a church in Benin City when a seemingly decent lady opened upon on her sex status, confessing that she was a lesbian.
During the service, there was an altar call from those who have forsaken their sins to get up. After the prayers, the lady who gave her name as Angela was said to have opted to speak. She confessed to being a lesbian even as she also mentioned her activities with some ladies. She mentioned the names of the ladies such as Eki Osaigbovo, Adesuwa Igiduh, and Orobosa Tracy Obazoghon as her partner, though married and has husband (name withheld).
The puzzle here is why a man or woman, knowing the eternal damnation of involvement in a particular act, still allows him/herself to be attracted to it. Well, our Lord God and personal saviour had warned that many are called but only few are chosen.
