BENIN CITY Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has again declared that he wants to leave lasting legacies for the people of the state.
Governor Oshiomhole made the declaration while inspecting the almost completed Ewah road storm water control project in Benin City yesterday.
At the site of Ewah Road storm water control project, which is on its last stretch to the Ikpoba River, workers were on site installing the iron rods in preparation for the gigantic drainage concrete casting that will channel the huge volume of water coming from Okhoro area to be emptied into the Ikpoba River.
The drainage has a dimension of eight metres width and 2.5 metres height.
Governor Oshiomhole, who was acknowledging shots of genuine praise and prayers from the residents and meat traders that came to purchase cow meat from the near-by abattoirs.
He explained to the residents, comprising elders and youths, that the drainage is to contain and channel the water from Okhoro area through Upper Lawani to the river and urged them to protect the project from blockage arising from indiscriminate dumping of waste into the drainage.
Other projects inspected by the Governor include the almost completed Upper- Lawani road project, and the on-going Upper-Mission Road dualisation project where the centre partitioning is being cast.
Through these project sites, the songs of praises and litany of prayers from the benefiting residents heralded the arrival  and continued in his presence and departure of the Governor and his entourage.
Governor Oshiomhole had a brief stop over at the New Benin Market area on Upper Mission road, where he made sure there was no street trading and no indiscriminate dumping of waste on the walk-way.
On the Governor entourage were the Chief of Staff to Edo State Government, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, Commissioner for Information and orientation, Prince Kassim Afegbua and Commissioner for Environment and Public Utilities, Prince Clem Agba who conducted the Governor and the entourage round the project sites.
