A widow, Mrs. Obeto has broken down in tears owing to the sudden disappearance of her only son, Obeto Nathaniel.
Narrating her ordeal, the widow said shortly after the death and burial of her husband who was a member of a powerful and influential secret cult group, they invited her son, being his father’s heir, into their secret enclave for a discussion on joining the group and sacrificing her(the mother), which the son refused to do.
She lamented that they issued various threats to him, beat him up and inflicted injuries on his leg for refusing to yield to their request as a result of which Nathaniel became moody, refused to eat his meals and as well refused to talk to anyone.
Narrating further, Mrs. Obeto said she went with her daughter to a vigil in her church on 9th February 2016, leaving Nathaniel and one of his cousins in the house, adding that upon her return the following morning, she discovered that some of the cult members besieged her house shooting sporadically and killed Nathaniel’s cousin in the process.
According to her, she last set her eyes on her only son on 9th February 2016, emphasizing that ever since, nothing has been heard about him, leaving her and his only surviving sister in tears.
The woman said she was afraid of her life, hence, she cannot muster the courage to go and ask any of the secret cult members the whereabouts of her son who left home without any trace.
