BENIN CITY-A serving magistrate in Edo State and two others reported abducted last Tuesday along Benin-Ehor road have been freed.

The Magistrate identified as Mrs Hassana Garuba and two others said to be medical doctors, were left off the hook last Saturday.

It was gathered that the medical doctors were travelling in a commercial bus which was intercepted by the gunmen who randomly picked them among other passengers.

The trio were released near Egba village along Adumagba-Akure express road.

It could not be ascertained whether ransom was paid before they were freed.

The Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command DSP Osifo Abiodun said the Magistrate has been reunited with her family and in good health.

DSP Osifo added that operatives of Edo police command would not relent in their manhunt for the abductors.

It will be recalled that the police PRO had at the wake the abduction disclosed that police have commenced a manhunt for the abductors of a serving female Magistrate and two others along Benin-Ehor road in the Edo State.

He revealed that the manhunt was aimed at rescuing the victims just as he advised the abductors to release their victims as police are already closing down on them.
