BENIN CITY-Operatives of Edo police command have commenced a manhunt for the abductors of a serving female Magistrate and two others along Benin-Ehor road in the state, last Tuesday.
It was gathered that the police search is aimed at rescuing the female Magistrate identified simply as Hassana, and two others whose identities remained unknown at press time, yesterday.
The Police spokesman in Edo DSP Osifo Abiodun disclosed that men of the state Anti-kidnapping Squad have begun tactical combing of the bush and flashpoints in the area.
DSP Osifo however advised the abductors to release their victims as police are already closing down on them.
It was further learnt that the police orderly of the female Magistrate was shot in the leg during the operation.
It was gathered that the orderly identified as Marcus is responding to medical attention at an undisclosed hospital in the state.
Family sources disclosed that the Magistrate was on her way to Ehor, headquarters of Uhunmwode Local Government when the gunmen struck around Obandan town, along the raod.
A source however disclosed that the abductors were yet to contact her family at press time, yesterday.
