BENIN CITY-The Odionwere (Community head) of Aruogba Community in Oredo local government area of Edo State Pa Ewansiha Owieadolor, his son, and two others have been arrested over the killing of the community Chief Priest (Ohen-Ogba), last Thursday.

Pa Ewansiha Owieadolor, 99 with three others were arrested by investigators at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Police Command headquarters in Benin City, last Thursday.

The Nonagenarian was sighted by our reporter being taken by investigators into the Charge room of the SCID about 4:15p.m, that fateful day.

He was alleged to have had altercation with the late Chief Priest during a meeting in the community prior to his gruesome murder.

It was further gathered operatives have launched a manhunt for other kinsmen of the deceased fingered in the killing.

The Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command DSP Osifo Abiodun confirmed the arrest.

“Perpetrators of that dastardly act will not go unpunished. As I speak we have four persons in our custody… Odionwere or not, age has no crime limit.

“We will not rest on our oars until the perpetrators are brought to book”, DSP Osifo stated.

It Will be recalled that the Chief Priest (Ohen-Ogba) of Aruogba Community Pa Clifford Omosomwan, 86 was shot dead through the window of his bedroom by gunmen who sneaked into his compound in the community.

It was further learnt that the Chief Priest who was partially blind was deep asleep when his assailants opened fire on him, about 2a.m.

The killing of the Chief Priest last Thursday replicated the brutal murder of the Enogie of Ugolo Clan in Ovia South-West local government area of Edo State H.R.H Solomon Udobor, at his Benin City residence, about 7.21p.m on Wednesday, December 30, 2009.

He was also shot dead by gunmen who invaded his residence as his wife, Mrs Esther Udolor watched helplessly.
