A 23-year old man, Bright Ohonbamu is reportedly on the run after the police declared him wanted for violating the provisions of the Same-sex prohibition act when he was caught in the act of same-sex with his long time lover,James Osasuyi on January 28,2016.

The homosexual lovers who were caught in the act in a hotel room by suspicious neighbours had been involved in the sacrilegious and forbidden act for several months before they were caught.

Reports revealed that while the angry mob violently attacked the two men with dangerous weapons in the hotel where a mammoth crowd besieged the two men unleashing terror on them.

According to reports in the community in upper Ekenwa road in Benin city ,Bright Ohonbamu, aluminum fabricator however managed to narrowly escape death in the hands of the angry mob while his lover was unlucky as he was lynched to death by the mob.

It was gathered that the angry mob who took laws into their hands resulted to jungle justice before the arrival of the police whose untimely arrival at the scene of crime led to the death of one of the homosexual suspect .

An witness account at the scene said that the angry mob comprising mainly youths were disgusted by the act because of the sacrilegious nature of the act which was capable of plaguing the entire community with famine, mysterious ailments and sudden deaths.

The angry mob it was said went after the runaway lover, Bright Ohonbamu but were unable to lay their hands on him prompting them(the mob) to burn down his business outfit and his apartment respectively in the community .

Meanwhile, reports in the community revealed that Bright Ohonbamu before he was disgracefully exposed to be an unrepentant homosexual ,he had been given aluminum fabrication work running into millions of naira by several customers who had been threatening to get him arrested as their products had not been delivered as promised.

Also, the police in a statement made available to journalists in Benin city after the attack on the two homosexual lovers said that it would continue its search for the fleeing Bright Ohonbamu in other to get him arrested and prosecuted for violating the provisions of the same-sex prohibition act .

In Nigeria, same-sex offenders( homosexual and lesbians )when convicted in accordance with the provisions of the act in court are liable to 14 years imprisonment.
