BENIN CITY-The Commissioner of police in Edo State Mr Chris Ezike has enjoined operatives of the state police command to renew their faith in God as He has been so faithful to them.
CP Ezike made the charge when he led other officers of the command on a Thanksgiving service at Holy Cross Cathedral, Mission Road, Benin City to climax Police Week in Edo, last weekend.
He stressed the need for officers to cultivate the culture of thanking God for His protection considering the nature of their job.
“It is essential to give thanks as God has been faithful to the command”. CP Ezike stated.
The police boss however disclosed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase directed all police commands in the federation to go for a thanksgiving to climax Police Week, 2016.
In a homily, the Archbishop of the Catholic Diocese of Benin Rev. Fr. Augustine Akubueze emphasized the relevance of thanksgiving as it is a way of expressing gratitude to God.
