BENIN CITY- The Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom and the Edaiken N’Uselu, Prince Oheneden Erediauwa has urged the Nigerian Government to develop the Agro Allied Industry and encourage urban to rural migration by creating the enabling environment.
Prince Eheneden spoke  at his palace in Uselu, Benin City, while receiving a delegation of participants of the Senior Executive  Course 38 of National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kiru, near Jos led by Acting Director General, Mr. Jonathan Juma.
The Crown Prince who expressed deep concern at Nigerian’s complete dependence on crude oil over the years, stressed that one way to reduce poverty is to develop the Agricultural sector by creating cluster industries in the rural areas, as well as mini-industrial estate, which he said would equally encourage urban to rural migration.
The Edaiken N’Uselu also advised the delegates to enlighten Nigerians on what they have done so far in terms of policy strategies and implementation.
Acting Director General, NIPSS, Mr. Jonathan Juma said the institute has carried out research in certain areas and submitted reports to Federal Government for implementation which can be seen in such areas as the repositioning of the educational sector and the Amnesty programme in the Niger Delta Area.
According to him, six groups are currently under going study tour across the country and with Edo State delegation as group five.
Theme of the five day study tour is, “Strengthening Mechanism for Poverty Reduction and Inclusive Development in Nigeria.”
