BENIN CITY-A 42 year-old man has been allegedly beheaded by his neighbour during an altercation over human excreta in a compound in Benin City.

The tragedy occurred at 9, Ukhegie Lane, Off TV, Benin City, last Sunday.

It was gathered that the victim, Mr Erabor Esosa Friday was clearing the grasses in an uncompleted building when his assailant identified as Osazuwa Victor shivered his head with a cutlass.

Trouble was said to have started when the deceased saw his neighbour, Victor emerged from the busy uncompleted building while he was clearing the grasses.

The victim was said to have been told by Victor that he went to defecate when was asked what he went to do inside the building.

Probably unhappy with the development, the deceased told his neighbour to go and park the faeces as he was going to clear the entire bushy compound.

The assailant was said to have refused, in its stead, he asked the victim to hand over his cutlass to him so that he would clear that spot he passed the excreta.

It was however disclosed that another episode of altercation that ensued shortly after the deceased surrendered his machete, climaxed when Victor allegedly beheaded his neighbour with the cutlass.

Contacted, the Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command DSP Osifo Abiodun was said to have been in a meeting with his boss.

Sources at the police command headquarters however revealed that the suspect Osazuwa Victor has been arrested by men of Oba market police division who also recovered the cutlass.

It was further learnt that the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the Central Hospital morgue in Benin City.
