Crisis is reportedly brewing in Ikpoba Hill axis of the Benin Metropolis as a middle-aged man, identified as Ehigie Martins, allegedly escaped over threats to his life by members of the reformed Ogboni confraternity and the buccaneer cult groups for refusing to join them.

It would be recalled that the father of Ehigie Martins, late Mr. Ehigie Nicholas, was said to be allegedly belong to the reformed Ogboni Confraternity and the buccaneer cult groups, before his demise.

Speaking to Newsmen, a close source and younger brother to late Ehigie Nicholas, who spoke to assert facts on ground, said that the late Ehigie Nicholas was his Elder brother and that his son, Ehigie Martins is his nephew.

He said that his late brother once told him before he died that while he was undergoing initiation processes into the two cult groups, he entered into a secret covenant with the leadership that in the event he dies, his first son Ehigie Martins, should be compelled to be initiated to assume his position in the cult groups, especially in view of the facts that his son, Ehigie Martins is his first son and also a manager in his company.

He further explained that no sooner his late brother told him this than he eventually died few months ago, saying when the burial ceremony was to commence, the leadership of the Reformed Ogboni confraternity and Buccaneer cult groups, sent messages to his son that in line with the cults’ rules, they would be coming to perform their rights and that he (Ehigie Martins) would be produced for initiation processes to take his late father’s positions.
The source added that the wife of his late brother, Mrs. Ehigie Caro, who hitherto knew the implications, was compelled to produce the son or else they would kill both of them for ritual purposes, stressing that when the threats reached tensed level and coupled with the facts that Ehigie Martins is a devoted Christian who does not want to involve in the kind of ritual initiations, escaped when it became apparent that their lives were no longer safe.

The source maintained that that fateful day, the cultists were to carry out their evil plans against the innocent son, Ehigie Martin and his mother, Mrs. Ehigie Caro, they escaped death by whisker and not succeed, they collectively threatened to launch continuous search for them, especially Ehigie Martins, to kill, boasting that they have the financial strength and political will to cover up their wicked plans if duly executed, saying nobody violates their rules regarding succession of a position once held by fathers in the cult groups that would go scot free.

He continued that the escape of Ehigie Martins and his mother, Ehigie Caro never gone down well with the cultists, as they openly boasted to circulate the pictures of Ehigie Martins to their contemporaries to kill anywhere in the country, pointing out that the entire family is scared of possible result of their threats.
