BENIN CITY – The Police in Adesuwa Division in Benin City, Edo State have launched a manhunt for one Roland Idahor who escaped from their custody after he was arrested at Saudi Centre, M.M. Way, Benin City where he worked as a fruit seller.
Idahor, about 32-years old, it was gathered, escaped after he was granted bail, but without perfecting his bail conditions.
A Police source said Idahor had confessed to his involvement in gay relationship for years now with one Kevin who has also been arrested.
Their gay activities, it was gathered came to the fore through intelligence report by the Saudi Centre Chief Security Officer (CSO), simply identified as Osagie in collaboration with with a relation of Kevin who monitored Kelvin’s unusual conducts for some time.
Contacted, the CSO confirmed the arrests of Kelvin and Idahor at the Centre, but refused to give details.
As at press time, the police authorities were yet to make a statement on the matter.
However,, it was gathered that the police are working on the conspiracy theory which tends towards the Investigating Police Officer, Sgt Osagie’s complicity in Idahor’s escape from police custody.
