Benin City:- A group of boys suspected to be homosexuals were yesterday rounded up while having a secret get together party at Christy Guest House around Ikpoba Slope area of the state capital. It was gathered that four of the boys were eventually arrested while the rest escaped.
According to Bright Iyoha, one of the boys arrested, Their friend by name Williams invited him and his partner John Osas to the get together. That it was during the party that a team of crack investigating officers swooped on them and arrested some of them.
Investigation revealed that these boys have been on Police watch list, as residents have written petition to the Police as regards their activities. A resident who claimed anonymity wondered why it took the Police a long time to clamp down on them.
It was gathered that the residents expressed worry and fear over the safety of their young boy, and in bid to protect them, they have written several petitions to the Police before these homosexuals indoctrinate their young boys.
It was also revealed that the one’s that escaped including John Osas were caught by the Police trying to leave town and brought to the station were they were tortured until they confessed to the crime.
Some of them including Bright Iyoha were temporary released on bail and a written Undertaken by his mother that he will be present for the court hearing on 15th of May this year.
Our investigation revealed that others showed up for the arraignment excluding Bright Iyoha.
