ABUJA – Senate of the Federal Republic yesterday, sympathized with Nigerians for the hardship they are passing through from recently increased pump price of petroleum and promised engaging Federal Government on improved welfare package to ameliorate the pains.

Rising from its one-hour closed session, the red chamber also urged the executive arm to begin implementation of palliative measures in the 2016 Budget as passed and signed into law.

The red chamber further enjoined the Federal Government to engage the organized labour in order not to ground the economy.

This is even as the senators withdrew its Bill on Frivolous Petition that hitherto provides for obtained affidavit before any information or petition is raised against a public officer.
