BENIN-CITY – A students’ Group under the aegies of Students and Youth Evangelism For APC (SYEFA), which is spread across the three senatorial districts of Edo State has urged all students, youths and delegates to the APC primaries to work for Mr. Godwin Obaseki for the benefit of Edo Students.
State Coordinator of the Group and National Vice President of National Association of Edo State Students (NAESS), Comrade Osifoh P.I. Newton and Secretary, Comrade Success Osato Odia in a statement to newsmen in Benin City, yesterday appealed to all Edo Students to work assiduously for the emergence of Godwin Obaseki as next governor of the state.
According to the statement, “In the past seven and half years, Edo State under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has witnessed tremendous infrastructural and socio-economic development, and our investigations have revealed that part of the success story of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is due largely to the untiring and relentless efforts of the chairman of the Edo State Economic team, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, whose initiative has strengthened Edo State Economy.”
“Having identified the strong link in the Oshiomhole administration, it is our belief that the only way to sustain the legacies of the Oshiomhole regime is to support the Comrade Governor’s preferred choice of Godwin Obaseki. This is why we are appealing to all Edo State students and our members in SYEFA to support and work for Obaseki.”
The statement, however, urged Obaseki to make Bursary Payment and Scholarship award a priority issue for Edo State Students as Governor of Edo State, adding that they were confident that under his administration, infrastructure and social amenities, including school clinics in all tertiary institutions would be made a reality.
The statement further assured that in solidarity with the Godwin Obaseki Campaign Organisation, immediately after his emergence after the primaries, SYEFA would organise one thousand (1,000) Students March for Obaseki to be Code named “Operation deliver your ward”.
