BENIN CITY– Secretary to Edo State Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere has enjoined Government House Staff  to work hard, and face the realities of life circumspectly in order to adapt to the changing world.

Prof. Ihonvbere was speaking yesterday in Government House, during a get-together organized by staff of his office to mark his 60th birthday anniversary.

The SSG who went down memory lane, describing  his humble back ground and little beginning said “There’s nothing you cannot achieve, even if you come from the most wretched  home, Believe in yourself, believe in God and work very hard, work does not kill and nothing is impossible”; he stressed.

Prof. Ihonvbere thanked God for bringing him thus far, disclosing that he never thought he would live to see age sixty (60).

According to him, this was not because he wanted to die, but due to some unnecessary risks he took as a child, and life threatening circumstances he had to go through later in life as a result of his activism.

On a final   note, he advised everyone present to encourage their children and be encouraged as well, despite prevailing circumstances.

He gave them the parting words “the world is yours you can use it the way you want, but use it wisely”.

Also present were the deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Hon. Ken Ihensekhien,  permanent Secretaries and other dignitaries.
