The House of Representatives led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu has sacked Abdulmumin Jibrin as chairman House Committee on Appropriations.
The sack took place during plenary session on the floor of the house of representatives in Abuja.
In what appeared as a shock to most lawmakers, the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara announced Mr Mustapha Dawaki APC Kano state to take over the chairmanship of the committee.
Briefing national assembly Correspondents soon after session, Jibrin said he willingly took the decision to step aside after due consultations with his family members.
Asked if the decision to resign might not be unconnected with the role he played in the alleged padding of the 2016 budget, Abdulmumin jibrin said he would address the press in due course on issues going on in the house.
He however admitted to absorb any blame associated to the committee during the time he worked as the Chairman House committee on Appropriation.
The sack may have been attributed to the padding he allegedly inserted into the 2016 for his constituency in kano to the tune of 4 billion naira before it was uncovered.
