BENIN CITY- The Benin Traditional Council, BTC has constituted three committees for the forthcoming coronation ceremony to be announced later.
A release dated 20th July 2016 and signed by Chief S.O.U. Igbe, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Edionwe Oliha, the Oliha of Benin Kingdom and Frank Irabor, Secretary to BTC, on behalf of the Grown Prince and Edaiken N’Uselu,  HRH (Amb) Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, the Benin Royal Families, the Palace Chiefs and the good people of Benin kingdom, which was made available to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER, stated unequivocally that the Edaiken N’Uselu, HRH (Amb) Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, had approved the constitution of these committees for the smooth take off of the process to be announced in due course.
The Committees are, Coronation Planning Committee headed by Prof. G.I. Akenzua, as Chairman, others are Finance Committee chaired by Engr. (Dr.) Greg Ero and Government Committee Chaired by Chief (Sir) Oseni Elamah, who is also the Okaovbiore of Benin Kingdom.
According to the release, the Edaiken N’Uselu, HRH (Amb) Prince Eheneden Erediauwa stated that the constitution of the Committees became very necessary against the backdrop of his successful performance of all the required traditional rites, including the royal funeral rites (Emwinekhua) of the departed Oba of Benin Kingdom, HRH Oba Erediauwa CFR, who recently joined his ancestors.
He pointed out that the traditional rites were prelude to his accession to the exalted throne of the Oba of Benin Kingdom as demanded by Bini Native Laws and Customs, noting  that the coronation date would be made known to the public through the media.
Present at the press briefing  were the chairman of the Coronation Planning Committee, Prof. G.I Akenzua, who also is the chairman Governing council of Ambrose Ali University, AAU, Ekpoma, Chief Sam Igbe, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Edionwe Oliha, the Oliha of Benin Kingdom, Chief S.O. Obamwonyi, the Esere of Benin Kingdom, Chief J.E. Oviasogie, the Eribo of Benin Kingdom, Chief E.U. Uzamere, the Inneh of Benin Kingdom Chief Osemwota Obamwonyi, the Eguezigbon of Benin Kingdom and Chief Esosa Eghobamien, the Obobaifo of Benin Kingdom.
