BENIN CITY – A Commercial bus (Tuke- Tuke) driver, Mr. Destiny Olaye, has narrowly escaped death in the hands of suspected cultists, who hired his vehicle for an unknown destination. . .

The ugly incident was said to have happened in the early part of August in the year 2016.

Narrating his experience to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER, the victim, Mr. Destiny Olaye, said that he set out for his normal work on that fateful day, when suddenly, a man stopped him and hired his bus for service.

According to him, soon after the man entered, he told me that other members of his team will be joining us as we drive along the road.

“As a matter of fact, hardly have we drove far, that we met other men, who stopped our vehicle and joined the man who hired me inside the bus.”

Mr. Destiny Olaye further told this Journalist that before he could drive up to one kilometer, from that point, the men in his bus brought out different dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and cut to size guns and ordered him to drive the bus to an unknown destination.

He said they thereafter told him that he must obey their order henceforth, as they were cult boys.

Mr. Destiny Olaye maintained that he then abruptly brought the vehicle to a halt at traffic light junction, when he sensed that his life was under serious threat.

“At this point they descended on me and inflicted varying degree of injuries on my body,just as I managed to jump out of the bus and ran away,” he added.

Speaking further, Mr. Destiny Olaye, said he later went to the hospital for treatment, while ‘the cultists took to their heels and went into hiding.

According to him, I spent about two weeks in the hospital, during which series of threat messages were being sent to me by the cultists, as they were bent on taking my life.

When The NIGERIAN OBSERVER contacted the Edo State Police Command on the matter, the Police image maker confirmed the incident.

The NIGERIA OBSERVER investigation revealed that Mr. Destiny Olaye was born on March 15th 1991 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Rose Olaye, who hail from Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
