—As Stray Bullet kills another

Men of the Nigerian Police, Edo State Police Command, have declared a middle-aged man, Adams Osaretin, wanted, just as his elder brother, Adams Emwanta, has been reportedly killed by the members of the Eiye
Confraternity cult group over his (Adams Osaretin) renunciation from the group, as well as one John who was also killed by stray bullets.

It would be recalled that the said Adams Osaretin, was in 2012, employed into clearing and environmental department of the ministry of works, Edo State, as a casual staff and diligently carried out his functions and responsibilities, without any blemish to the extent that he was assured of full employment which is to be followed with a promotion to the rank of a supervisor as assured by his director.

Speaking with newsmen, an uncle to Adams Osaretin, Mr. Adams Osagie, who, lamented the ugly trend which befell on his nephew, said that trouble started when his nephew, Adams Osaretin, was deceived to cult
initiation and after been initiated, this time they (Adams Osaretin and siblings) had lost their father to the cold hand of death, leaving their mother to her challenges of life.

He said that instead of abiding by the assurances and promises which were the pre-condition for promoting his nephew, but to no avail, the director, then resorted to dribbling him to the extent that he (Director) and the rest of the leadership of the cult group in May 15 2014, cruelly assigned Adams Osaretin, to bring his deceased elder brother for ritual purposes, condition to fully integrate him into the cult group and apprehended by that assignment and particularly when it is obvious that he (Adams Osaretin) was a devoted Christian, immediately renounced his coerced membership from the cult group.

Embarrassed by his defiant but justifiable action, the cultists started threatening to kill him and as such, they started to be trailing him but he escaped in the process they wanted to capture him
to kill and angered by the development, the cultists started looking for an alternative measures, hence they killed his elder brother in replacement of the said Adams Osaretin, the subject matter, as well as
a passer-by who was hit by the assailants’ stray bullets, saying that their mother who had hitherto lost focus arising from the death of her husband, became apprehensive after hearing that her eldest Son and innocent man who had no bearing with the matter have been killed and her second child, Adams Osaretin, who is one of the sources of her livelihood, had escaped to exile to avoid being killed, a situation which elicited the reaction of the family of the innocent man killed by stray bullet to the extent that they reported the matter to the police.

The source added that after the killing of his eldest nephew, he (Adams Osagie) after the ugly incident, reported the matter to the police unknowing that the family of the man who was killed alongside his nephew had previously reported, but the police, who supposed to have investigated the matter distinctively to unravel the circumstances, had a dramatist twist and started blaming the sad
scenario on his escaped nephew, an act which prompted police to declare him (Adams Osaretin) wanted, since his alleged involvement and subsequent renunciation from the cult group, was the cause of his
elder brother and innocent man’s brutal murder, just as the Director and his cult allies, have been perceived to have influenced and induced the police to turn the case against his nephew (Adams
Osaretin) instead of giving him fair hearing and justice.
