Kano – The police in Kano are to deploy additional personnel to Doguwa, Tudun Wada and Sumaila local government areas to checkmate activities of bandits.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Magaji Majiya made this known to newsmen  in Kano on Friday.
The areas are close to the Falgore forest notorious for nefarious activities of bandits, especially by terrorising the people.

“The new Commissioner of Police, Mr Rabiu Yusuf, has promised to enhance security around the Falgore forest in Doguwa, Sumaila and Tudun Wada local government areas of the state.
“Kidnapping of innocent citizens and other activities of bandits had become a source of concern to communities living around the forest.’’
He said the measure was necessary in order to flush out hoodlums and other criminals who used the forest as their hideout.
He said the command would also review the security situation with a view to enhancing the operations of the anti-cattle rustling squad in the area.
He said the hoodlums had devised new tactics by sending SMS to people to give them money or risk losing their lives following the patrols by the Special Anti-robbery Squad along Kano-Jos road.
He advised people to cooperate with security agents by giving them useful and timely information that would lead to the arrest of the hoodlums.
