EKPOMA-A ghastly auto crash has occurred on the Benin-Okene Highway at Ehanlen Junction in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The accident involving four vehicles – an articulated vehicle, conveying Kerosene, a tipping truck conveying stones and two Toyota salon cars, resulted in heavy flames.
Though no life was lost, the resultant heavy flames consumed all four vehicles involved in the crash, caused serious panic in the university town.
Save for the invention of fire fighters from Ambrose Alli University, the fire would have consumed houses in the area.
According to an eyewitness, Mr. David Isimemen, the accident occurred when a tipping truck conveying gravel in a bid to avoid a bad portion on the road, collided with an articulated vehicle, conveying Kerosene, causing it to tumble.
The crash resulted in heavy flame which consumed the two trucks, as well as the two other vehicles the crashed into trucks.
Occupants of the vehicles were however rescued before the fire explosion.
