Earlier in February 2015, Osamagbe Osarumwense, younger brother to Osazee was reportedly confirmed dead after a violent altercation between members of the extremely dangerous cult group who attacked him in his family house in Benin City over his outright rejection of initiation into membership of the cult .

It was gathered that after the tragic death of Pa.Osarumwense who was the leader and custodian of the deity and shrine of Osokpikan cult, members of the cult prevailed severally on his sons to take up the mantle of leadership created by the death of their father as it was enshrined in the Constitution of the cult group and also mandatory for every decased member to be replaced by any of his surviving son.

However in the case of the family of Pa.Osarumwense whose children are popularly known for their Christian faith in the community, the stage was set for a collision course between members of the cult group and the Osarumwense family as all the sons of the deceased leader were unwilling to cooperate and take up the leadership responsibility of the cult group.

In February 2015, the Osarumwense family reportedly lost Osamagbe Osarumwense to the cold hands of death when members of Osokpikan cult group reportedly attacked him in the family house for outrightly rejecting to take up his late father’s role as leader and custodian of the deity and shrine of the cult.

Meanwhile, barely a year and some months after the unresolved murder case of Osamagbe Osarumwense in February 2015, members of the Osokpikan cult are again in the news.

The members of Osokpikan cult on the fateful day in September 2016 at night were said to have marched in a long procession around the community to the family compound of Osarumwense in Benin City where 3 Calabash pots bearing fetish contents with wild burning fire in them were placed in the family compound.

As members of the extremely dangerous cult group made several incantations while in the family compound of their deceased leader, it was gathered that Osazee Osarumwense immediately came out with a machete in his hand and attempted to chase the members of the cult group away.

It was said that the members of the cult group stood their ground when he appeared with the machete, as a violent confrontation ensued between him and members of the group when all of a sudden sporadic gunshots were fired leading to the murder of Osazee Osarumwense .

His(Osazee) sudden death from the altercation with members of the Osokpikan cult group however plunged the entire community.into pandemonium as it was reported that members of the community reportedly fled immediately he slumped as his corpse was later evacuated and deposited at the mortuary by the police.

Meanwhile, the police in a statement made available to journalists in Benin City said it had commenced preliminary investigation into the circumstances which led to the murder of Osazee Osarumwense after he encountered members of Osokpikan cult to which his deceased father was an active member and leader.

The statement further added that some members of the cult group who were earlier arrested in relation to the murder case had been released for lack of evidence to prosecute the case further.

Meanwhile, members of the general public and the Osarumwense family are of the opinion that investigation into the case was prematurely truncated by influential members of the dreaded cult group which according to some members of the community led to the release of the arrested members of the cult group.
