Liverpool face a hectic festive fixture which which included playing two matches in less than 48 hours and their request to have the time of the second game shifted have been rejected by the FA. They are one of the strong favourites to win the Premier League with a betting lines of +250

The Red Devils will face Manchester City in a top of the table clash on December 31 and play Sunderland on January 2. Liverpool’s request was rejected by the FA on the basis that it would set a dangerous precedent to make a change foe one club. City will also play at the same times but Liverpool have to travel further and will definitely take its toll on the players.

The festive period is usually a make or mar period for clubs and this year shows no difference. It is when some clubs drops points due to the burden it imposes on the them while some club will catch up with others or even leapfrog them.

Liverpool sit at the top of the league with 26 points and 30 goals from 11 games and look like a side that can win the title since 2013/2014 season when Brendan Rodgers almost won it but lost it to Man City despite topping the table till the final weeks of the season.

The Jurgen Klopp side has been on fire since recovering from their shock loss to newly promoted club Burnley and has been tipped to win the title even though they are trying to play it down. A congested December fixture however, may have its effect on their title bid. It now depends on how Klopp will be able to rotate his squad to prevent many “tired legs” in the squad as the Permier League race heats up.

The only  saving grace for Liverpool is their non involvement in the Champion League. It is not an over statement that the top four will drop points. Liverpool have an attacking front line that can get the goals but consistency remains the key if they are to end their over two decades wait for the league crown.

Of the top six, Man United arguably appears to have the easiest fixture as they are the only team that will not face any of their title rivals. All their five opponents are currently in the second half of the table.

Chelsea and Tottenham will meet this December, Arsenal and Man City will also battle each other making the contest at the top six more fierce.

Can Liverpool maintain the same momentum that catapulted them to the summit of the table and escape unscratched from this congested and demanding festive fixtures?

It Is expected of Klopp to have more than one plans in case a certain plan goes wrong.
