BENIN CITY – Cocoa Farmers in Edo State Forest Reserves are to pay the annual tenement rate of #7,000:00 per farmer per hectare for the year 2016 and other arrears to be paid on or before the end of 30th November, 2016.
This is contained in a Government Special Announcement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utility, Barr. A. E. Akhuamhekhun made available to newsmen in Benin City Friday.
The statement warns, “Please, note that failure to comply with these payments will lead to appropriate  sanction and prosecution in the court of law in accordance with extant Forestry Law and Regulation.”
