BENIN CITY – Edo State Government has expressed its condolences to the Raje family on the demise of late Justice Momodu Ohihon Raje, Rtd who died recently aged 83 years.

A condolence message to the widow of the deceased jurist, Mrs. Latifat Raje signed on behalf of the people and Government of Edo State by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Barr. Osarodion Ogie says, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult moment oF grief, knowing how close you are to him. As we we join you to mourn his departure, we are certain that find consolation in the fact that your beloved husband lived a worthy life, as a kind, wise and devoted muslim, deserving of celebration.”

“While we appreciate how much pain his death has caused you, the death of mortals is at the absolute pleasure of Almighty Allah, of which no human can question. This trying period therefore, calls for renewed faith in Almighty Allah.

Indeed, I can say without equivocation that late Justice Raje would be fondly remembered for his unflinching commitment and service to the people and government of Edo State as a judicial officer, who made his mark in his chosen profession and rose to become President, Edo State Customary Court of Appeal and retired meritoriously, having served in that capacity,” the statement said.

While extolling late Justice Raje for leaving behind the legacy of identifying with social justice and dedicated service to humanity as a senior chief in the palace of the Ukor of Ihievbe, Owan East Local Governmment Area, Edo State Government also prayed Almighty Allah to give the widow, children and the Raje family the fortitude to bear the great of a worthy patriarch, adding, “May his gentle soul rest in peace and do kindly convene our commiseration to the rest of the family.”
