BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has emphasised the need for an action plan to guide the resuscitation of Benin Technical College in order to elevate it to international standard.

He made the disclosure when the Old Students Association led by the President Mrs Debby Odejimi paid a visit to Government House Benin City Friday.

Governor Obaseki enumerated the priority to include bringing the college back in months time, re- build infrastructure, evaluation of the school curriculum and finally how the college’s students can partner industries for practical experience.

He emphasised that these are some the issues that should be considered that the Old Students Association could share with the state government hence he urged the members to liaise with the Chief of Staff, Edo State Government, Mr. Taiwo Akerele.

Earlier, the National President of the Benin Technical College Old Students Association, Mrs. Debby Odejimi commended Governor Obaseki for his commitment towards their alma mata pointing out that the association carried out some projects including raising  funds for the building of toilet facility and was already considering partnering with the state government to build block of classrooms.

The association revealed that the land belonging to the college had been encroached by land developers including cattle rearers.
