Benin – The Edo Government has embarked on the rehabilitation of seven roads in Benin City to enhance traffic movement.

Mr John Obanor, Director, Ministry of Works, announced this to journalists after conducting Gov. Godwin Obaseki on some project sites in Benin on Monday.

He said 30 roads had been earmarked for rehabilitation but work had started on the seven critical ones to prevent traffic gridlock in parts of the metropolis during Yuletide.

According to the director, grading as well as asphalting has commenced on the roads and work is progressing.

He listed some of them as Cooke, James Watt, Reuben Agho, Jemide, Aikhionbare as well as Ugbo roads.

Deputy Governor Phillip Shaibu, Secretary to State Government Osarodion Ogie, Chief of Staff Taiwo Akerele and Head of Service Gladys Idahor, accompanied the governor on the tour.
