BENIN CITY- Edo State Govermor Mr. Godwin Obaseki has assured the people of Ovia South West local government area of the state that the College of Agriculture Iguerhiakhi and Edo state Polytechnic Usen will be Re-built to enable it produce employable graduates positioned for the 200,000 job his administration will create for the youths in the state.

He gave the assurance at Ovia South West local government area of the state to conclude his tour to the18 local government area to appropriate party members for their votes and support.

Obaseki said he had to close down the College of Agriculture Iguerhiakhi because it was not worthy of being a school of Agriculture due to poor standard. “I shut down the school to enable me put money and make it standard. I will rebuild the school so that graduates will be employable”

He said he has spoken with Okomu Oil, Nigerian Institute For Oil Research (NIFOR) and PRESCO oil Plc to join hands with his administration to re-build the school, help train students and provide them with employment.

“I will put all the 261 students in the school on allowance and send them to agricultural farm for their industrial training”.

The governor said he will not accept the standard of Edo State Polytechnic Usen as it will be improved upon to help his administration in the training of students and make them employable.

He promise to visit the school to make it a standard Polytechnic after receiving the report of the committee set up to look at the financial management of the school.

The chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Edo State Chapter Anslem Ojezua thanked the people of Ovia South West for the warm reception given to the governor, he urge them to continue to support the Godwin Obaseki led administration to deliver the dividend o democracy to the people in the state.

He called on the party members in the council areas to come out and ensure they are captured in the biometric registration that will commence soon for party members in the state. He urges them to go all out to win more members for the party to make subsequent election a walkover.

The chairman of APC in the council area Mr. Peter Ajayi appreciates and congratulated the governor and the party for the victory recorded in the last governorship election in the state. He commended the governor for the sanity and discipline brought into the party through the appointment of members of the party into various positions.

Ajayi appealed to the governor to re-open the College of Agriculture Igueriakhi that was closed by his administration for the purpose of reforming and restructuring the college to attain enviable height to meet with world standard.

He urge the governor to treat with utmost honesty the report of the committee set up to look at the administrative and financial management of the Edo State Polytechnic Usen to enable the administration re-position the school for greater height.

The APC chairman called on the governor to give Iguobazuwa a face lift as local government headquarters because it is one of the oldest local governments in the state.

He appeals on the governor to look at the following roads for re-construction. The roads include Iguelaho, Iguekahen, Iguerahon, Madagbayo, Gbelebu, Usen-ulorin-Ajegunle and Ugogui.

 Receiving some decampees from other parties led by a former PDP council chairman Hon. Aighobahi Monday, governor Obaseki said APC is not a party that discriminates as they are all welcome to the fold. He charged them to join hands with party members to ensure the majority of voters in the council area are APC as this will enable the party maintain dominant in the local government.

Hon. Aighobahi Monday appreciate the governor for the great work o governance in the state assuring him that they have all come to stay to work or the party as well as contribute their quota for the development of the party and by extension the state.

The governor in his usual manner rewarded the ward with the highest number of votes as well as per centage of votes in the gubernatorial election. Ward 10 got five hundred thousand naira for the highest number of votes while ward 5 got same cash reward for the highest number o per centage of vote cast during the governorship election. The other eight wards got one hundred thousand naira each for their efforts.
