BENIN CITY- Public Complaints Commission has commended Godwin Obaseki’s administration for the level of response from the state government agencies and parastatals which has improved tremendously and made the work of the commission easier in terms of accessing information.

The commendation was made when members of the commission was led by the Hon. Federal Commissioner Public Complains Commission Edo State Hon. Barr. Felix Alari who were on a courtesy visit to government house in Benin City, Edo State.

Hon. Alari, commended Obaseki, for its people oriented programmes and his dynamic and resourceful style of leadership and the giant strides recorded since he assumes office.

”My remarks are born out of the positive rating of your performance so far as reflected in the mood of the people of Edo State which our commission also acknowledges judging from the level of response from state government agencies and parastatals which has improved tremendously since your assumption of office”.

 He appealed to the governor to direct public officers and heads of Public Institutions to respond promptly to enquiries from public complains commission. He noted that this is largely responsible for some of the delays in resolutions of cases.

Obaseki in his response thanked members of the commission for the visit as well as the good works of the commission but however appealed to them never to allow the agency to be used as debt collector. “We employ you not to allow the commission to be used as debt collection agency which is not one of your mandates as a body”.

“I am happy to note that the number of cases of complains are coming down because as a government we respond to every mail that comes to us as a government as we investigate to ensure that we deal with complains that comes to us”.
