OGWA – The Vice-Chancelor, Samuel Adegboyega University,(SAU), Professor Bernard Eromosele, has stated that, the standard of education in private tertiary institutions in Nigeria, has resulted in the production of high quality graduates for the nation’s labour market.

Prof Eromosele stated this on Monday, during the SAU pre convocation press briefing, at the institution’s campus, Ogwa, in Esan West Local government area of Edo state.
The VC said, SAU will be parading 11 first-class graduates in the 3rd convocation ceremony slated for Thursday, 16th November, 2017, amongst which are 6 females and 5 males.

Prof Eromosele noted, during the convocation ceremony, the institution will formally install a new visitor to the university, in the person of Pastor Emmanuel Awojide, who became the Chairman of Lagos Western And Northern Areas(LAWNA territory) of the apostolic Church in July, 2017.
The SAU VC added that, the laws establishing the institution recognizes chairman of LAWNA territory as the visitor to the university, hence the installing of Pastor Awojide, after the retirement of Pastor Gabriel Olutola JP, who will now become the university’s chancellor.

While highlighting some of the institution’s achievements in the last one year, the VC disclosed plans by the university to announce the introduction of new academic programmes from the coming sessions, which according to him are in law and graduate programmes.

The VC further added that, as part of the convocation activities, a former Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University,(OAU), Prof Michael Faborede, will present a paper titled, “Universities Obligation To Humanity And The Ecosystem”, which he described as “timely” in view of the issues surrounding climate change across the world.
Prof Eromosele who disclosed arrangements to award deserving students that excelled in their various fields, in addition to the VC, Pro-Chancelor, and Dean prizes, stated that, the university has inaugurated the Friends of SAU Trust fund, to partner individuals and organizations to fast track development of the institution.

He however explained that, the university through its Center For Economic Development and Research On Esan Land, had gone into partnership with Association of Esan Professionals, to promote agricultural and industrial development of the zone, especially the “endangered” Esan language to ensure it regains it lost glory in the consciousness of Esan people.
