A journalist with The Nigerian Observer, Mike Osarogiagbon has petitioned the Edo State Commissioner of Police CP Johnson Babatunde Kokumo over alleged threat to his life by some persons, suspected to be cultists.

Osarogiagbon who works as a Crime correspondent with the State Print medium, in his letter appealed to the Police boss to commence discreet investigation with a view to protecting his life, that of his family and property.

He further stated that his movement has largely been affected due to the feeling that he is now being monitored by persons notorious for bloodletting and senseless killings.

This was contained in a copy of the petition which receipt was acknowledged by the State Commissioner of Police and made available to journalists in Edo State.

“About 2:35Pm on Wednesday 29th November 2017, I parked my car close to the Edo State Staff Training Centre on Okada Avenue GRA, Benin City and walked into the state police command headquarters, which is my primary beat.

“Few hours later I returned to my car, to discover a letter on the driver’s seat. I suspect the letter was pushed through a small opening in the car’s Window glass which I left opened for ventilation”. He stated in the letter.

He however included an excerpt of the threat letter.

“Mike your cup is filled. Your story against our on our enemies have nailed you, we know your movement even in Abuja and Lagos, You cannot hide, the Police will be helpless as always, bastard…Brotherhood for life, No Price No Pay”.

The Nigerian Observer crime correspondent also said in the petition that this is not the first threat to his life since he started practicing more than a decade ago, adding that the content and manner the threat was delivered is disturbing.
