… Close Ally Freeborn Emadamerho, Others Reportedly on the Run

ABUJA – Investigations into the activities of former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, appear to be widening, as security agencies intensify efforts to apprehend individuals allegedly linked to the ongoing case.

Maina, who is facing charges bordering on money laundering, abuse of office and other related offences, is currently being held pending the determination of his case in court.

Sources familiar with the investigation disclosed that several business associates believed to have had dealings with Maina are now in police custody, while others are reportedly evading arrest.

The Federal Government has directed law enforcement agencies to ensure that all individuals found to be connected to the alleged infractions are investigated and, where culpable, prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Among such associates in connection with the investigation is Mr. Freeborn Iffie Emadamerho, Chief Executive Officer of Raybon Global Limited. Sources allege that Emadamerho maintained close business ties with Maina.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Emadamerho may currently be outside the country. A source, who requested anonymity, claimed that he travelled abroad around the time security agencies intensified their operations. Efforts to independently verify his location were ongoing as of press time.

Another source close to the family alleged increased security presence around Emadamerho’s residence, stating that security operatives have visited the premises in connection with the investigation. These claims, however, have not been officially confirmed.

Government officials maintain that the investigation remains ongoing and that due process will be followed. Individuals already apprehended are said to be facing charges corresponding to their alleged level of involvement.

It would be recalled that several attempts by Maina’s legal team to secure his bail on health grounds were unsuccessful, as the court ruled that he should remain in custody pending further proceedings.

As the probe continues, authorities reiterate their commitment to ensuring accountability and upholding the rule of law in the handling of the matter.
