Edo House of Assembly on Tuesday began the clause by clause consideration of a bill for a law to prohibit trafficking in person, establish the Edo State task force against trafficking in person.

The majority leader, Hon. Roland Asoro member representing (APC Orhionmwon South) constituency moved the motion for the house to dissolve into the committee of the whole to consider the bill.

The Chief Whip of the house, Hon. Iyoha Osaigbovo, member representing (APC Oredo East) constituency seconded the motion.

At the committee of the whole, the house considered section one to seven.

The bill seeks the establishment of the Edo State task force against trafficking in person.

According to the house, appointment of members shall be by the governor and subject to the ratification of the house of assembly.

The speaker, Rt.Hon. Kabiru Adjoto Thereafter directed the majority leader of the house to slate further consideration of the bill for the next sitting day.

Governor Godwin Obaseki had in January sent the bill for a law to prohibit trafficking in person and establish the Edo State task force against trafficking in person to the house for consideration.
