DO ALL SPEAK IN TONGUES?

Tongue speaking in most churches today has become a disturbing phenomenon, so much so that some genuine servants of God are now wondering if some of these pastors, who make a public “show” of it, have not read the scripture, about tongue speaking, or have read it but do not understand, what the Holy Spirit says about tongue speaking. Believers in Christ must understand the fact that these tongues, whether of men or of angels, are mere gifts of the Holy Spirit, like any other gifts of the Holy Spirit,which differ from one another in administration, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-10. And in VERSES 29-30, Apostle Paul questioned, and I quote, ‘’Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the gift of healing? DO ALL SPEAK IN TONGUES? DO ALL INTERPRET? It is clear, therefore, that NOT ALL BELIEVERS IN CHRIST HAVE THE GIFT OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES. Andeven those who have the gift of speaking in tongues areadvised, in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:13, to pray that they may be able to interpret, otherwise if they cannot interpret, or if there is no other, in the church, to interpret, then suchbelievers in Christ are warned to keep silence in the church, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:28, and I quote, “BUT IF THERE IS NO INTERPRETER, LET HIM KEEP SILENCE IN THE CHURCH; AND LET HIM SPEAK TO HIMSELF AND TO GOD.”Otherwise,if the unlearned or unbelievers, come into the church, and hear them speak in an unknown tongue, whichthey do not understand,they willsay they are mad, as we can read in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:23, and I quote, “IF THEREFORE, THE WHOLE CHURCH COME TOGETHER INTO ONE PLACE, AND ALL SPEAK WITH TONGUES, AND THERE COME IN THOSE WHO ARE UNLEARNED OR UNBELIEVERS, WILL THEY NOT SAY THEY ARE MAD?”Andthey willeven be like barbarians unto them, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:11, and I quote, “THEREFORE, IF I KNOW NOT THE MEANING OF THE VOICE, I SHALL BE UNTO HIM THAT SPEAKETH A BARBARIAN, AND HE THAT SPEAKETH SHALL BE A BARBARIAN UNTO ME.” Speaking in tongue, without anyinterpretation is like speaking into the air, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:9, and I quote, ‘’SO LIKEWISE YE, EXCEPT YE UTTER BY THE TONGUE, WORDS EASY TO BE UNDERSTOOD, HOW SHALL IT BE KNOWN WHAT IS SPOKEN? FOR YE SHALL SPEAK INTO THE AIR.’’

On the day of Pentecost, the tongues that were spoken,by the apostles andthe other disciples, numbering about one hundred and twenty (120 ), were tongues of men, spoken in different languages of the different countries of the world, from whence came all the Jews to Jerusalem to observe the Pentecost. Pentecost was a Jewishfestival, held on the fiftieth day after the Jews Passover. All Jews, born in different countries, came to Jerusalem to observe this festival. And these Jews, who came from these different countries of the world,where they were born, understood the different languages, which the Holy Spirit gave the apostles utterance to speak on that day, as written in ACTS 2:4, and I quote, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” And in VERSES 6-8, it is written, and I quote, “NOW WHEN THIS WAS NOISED ABROAD, THE MULTITUDE CAME TOGETHER AND WERE CONFOUNDED BECAUSE THAT EVERY MAN HEARD THEM SPEAK IN HIS OWN LANGUAGE AND THEY WERE ALL AMAZED AND MARVELED, SAYING ONE TO ANOTHER, BEHOLD ARE NOT ALL THESE WHICH SPEAK GALILEANS? AND HOW HEAR WE EVERY MAN IN OUR TONGUE, WHEREIN WE WERE BORN?” Wherefore, tongues of men, according to Paul in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:22, are for a sign TO THEM THAT BELIEVE NOT,but prophesying is forthem which believe. Therefore,the gift of prophecy, which is the best of all the gifts, edifies the church, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:1-5.Speaking in an unknown tongue,especially tongue of angels, is speaking mysteries in the spirit, unto God, and not unto men, and so, it should be in one’s closet, not in the church.Baptism of the Holy Ghost and His GIFTS, are meant for service here on earth. With these gifts alone, without the FRUIT of the Spirit, especiallyCHARITY, FAITH AND HOPE, the greatest of which is charity, believers in Christ will not be allowed through the gates, into heaven! Charity is the agape love of God, that is shed abroad in the hearts of those who are truly born again of the word of truth and of the Spirit of Christ, as written in ROMANS 5:5. And this love of God is simply to keep His commandments, as written in 1 JOHN 5:3, and I quote, “FOR THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: AND HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GRIEVIOUS.” And Paul said in 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1, and I quote, “THOUGH I SPEAK WITH THE TONGUES OF MEN AND OF ANGELS AND HAVE NOT CHARITY, I AM BECOME AS SOUNDING BRASS OR A TINKLING CYMBAL.”A believer in Christmay have the gift of speaking in tongue and even all other gifts of the Spirit,and yet, end up in hell. Jesus Christ said in MATTHEW 7:22-23, and I quote, “Many will say unto me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we notprophesied in thy name; in thy name cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, you that work iniquity.” In MATTHEW 10:1, Judas was named as one of the twelve disciples, given power, to cast out devils and to heal the sick, and yet Judas found himself in hell.

Many believers in Christ have been deceived by some pastors, who are destitute of the truth, to believethat without the gift of speaking in tongue, it means they are notborn again, and so, cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. But the thief on the cross, who never spake in tongue, was received by Jesus into paradise and, he is now in heaven, as written in LUKE 23:43, and I quote, ‘’And Jesus said to him, VERILY I SAY UNTO THEE, TODAY SHALT THOU BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.’’ Because of this strange doctrine, many believers in Christ are literally ‘’forced’’ to speak in ‘’tongue’’ by making them to go through series of ‘’tutorial lessons’’on ‘’tongue-speaking.’’ The practice of such tongue-speaking is devilish, earthly and it is of the flesh. This act of feigning speaking in tongue is very common in most harlot churches, and it is the counterfeit of genuine tongue-speaking, because it is the Holy Spirit that divides all gifts, including the gift of tongues, severally to everyman as He wills, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 12:11.
There is nothing wrong for believers to desire spiritual gifts for service but amongst all these gifts,they should covet to prophesy, so that the church may receive edifying. Above all these gifts, believers must follow after CHARITY which will never fail, but prophecies someday shall fail, tongues someday shall cease, and the gift of knowledge shall also someday, vanish away, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 13:8, and I quote, ‘’Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.’’
And ye shall know the Truth and the truth shall make you free, thus saith the LORD.
