The Edo Civil Society Organisations (EDOCSO), a network of civil society groups in Edo state has called on electricity consumers in the state to reject ‘Survey Forms’ being distributed by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).

The organization which made the call recently in Benin city, described the alleged exercise as fraud, and ploy to hoodwink people of the state to fill the forms in BEDC’s favour when they have not actually deliver on their contractual agreement.

According to the Spokesperson, EDOCSO, Leftist Osazee Edigin, “it has come to the notice of Edo Civil Society Organisations the distribution of a survey form to citizens by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company persuading them to fill in favour of their incompetency and poor services to the people in the past four years.

“To this end, we are enjoining all Edo people to reject the survey forms being distributed by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company towards their further enslavement of the people. It is a battle to finish”.

The organization had launched a campaign tagged, “BEDC MUST Go” against a renewal of the operational licence of the electricity distribution company which is expected to expire in November, 2018.
