Following defeat to Croatia in the Super Eagles opening fixture at the Russia 2018 and with the team now having to defeat Iceland to keep chances of qualifying in their own hands, NFF 1st Vice President, Barr. Seyi have advised that all member of the federation not focused on the September, 2018 election. Ha said what is more important to Nigerians now is to see Super Eagles progress from the group stages to knock out stage.

Barr. Seyi made this know to Nigerian Observer when he was speaking at a press conference from the team’s based in Essentuki, Russia.

‘The World Cup is our sole priority in Russia and I can assure you that everyone within the federation is focused on the round leather game not the NFF Elections coming up later this year.”

On the mood within the federation following the defeat to Croatia, Barr. Seyi said, “We are disappointed with the outcome of the first match but we are already looking forward to the second match against Iceland on Friday and we are determine to win which would help the Super Eagles in their bid to qualify for next round.”

He concluded by calling on Nigerians and fans of the Super Eagles to show support and pray for the team because in term of preparation, the team is doing its best but need a bit of luck on Friday to overcome the resolute Icelandic team who may want to build on their positive progress after a 1-1 draw with the Arbisteles of Argentina in the group opening match.
