IKPOBA- OKHA- The All Progress Congress (APC), in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo state has formally inaugurated its newly LGA Executives and Ward Chairmen with the advise that members should see their election as call to service.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the local government Secretariat of the party on Tuesday in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
Speaking during the event, the Council APC Chairman, Barrister Kelvin Osasu Egharevba congratulated the new exco members for their victory at the just concluded Edo state Local Government Areas and Ward Congresses.
He attributed the tremendous successes recorded in the chapter thus far to the contributions and undieing efforts of members and leaders of the party in the area.
Barr. Egharevba Egharevba enjoined members to maintain cordial relationship with the people and shun activities capable of undermining the developmental objectives of the APC.
He expressed confidence on the the exco members and stated that “I hold the fact that with your support we will hit new height and the giant developmental strides of Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration in Edo state will be continue”
I, on behalf of all the L.G.A executive and ward chairman, use this medium to solicit for more of your support, so that together we can sustain and surpass the achievement we have recorded thus far.
Speaking also, the member representing Ikpoba-Okha constituency in Edo State house of Assembly (EOHA), Hon Henry OKhuarobo tasked the exco members to be good ambassador of the party ,adding that the ward chairmen should strive towards being a representative link between members at the L.G.A. and ward levels
He harped on the need for members to be humane in their deposition to party activities just as he assured them that there is no limit to their growth in the party most especially as there is internal democracy in APC, in Edo state .
” Do your work assiduously, keep the flag of APC flying and see your new position as an opportunity to serve the people, ” he said.
On his part, Captain Mike Okhomina (rtd), reminded the people that their new positions entails responsibility, stressing that members should see their various positions as transients, just as well as wake up call for service to humanity.
He appealed to the ward chairmen to operates open door policy , adding that they are expected to be accountable and responsible to members.
