THE importance of celebrating people who have made positive impacts in the nation while they are alive, has been stressed.

In an interview with The Weekend Observer in Benin City, the founder and President of God Sent Foundation, Amb. Dion Osagie insist that only ICONS should not only be celebrated when they are dead.

“Let us celebrated our living ICONS, to show them we appreciate them. The government should also invest in entertainment, Arts and Culture to solve the many vices in our society.

The promotion of entertainment, Art and culture will no doubt create jobs”, he noted.

According to him, one of the biggest problem in Nigeria is social welfare and he expects the government to create a platform where people can run to when the need help.

“Another problem is unemployment which has created a lot of social vices. When the unemployed are hungry, they get involved in crime. To fight crime in our communities we must have to create jobs. We must find way to put unemployed youths on stipends and this can be done by investing on entertainment, Arts and culture.

“When people have hope they will get money, they will be happy and stay away from crime. But when there is no hope, the graduate who has been in the house for several years without a job will want to do anything to survive.

“A young person who graduated from the university and still at home for years with no source of income is a very big problem to the society and this is what leads to so many social vices.

When such a person is called to take part in crime to take part in crime where. They will make one million naira, such person is most likely to do it because they are hungry.

“It is very important that we find a way to creeds sources of income for the unemployed and this can be done through entertainment, Arts and Culture sector of the economy.
