A Non-Governmental Organisation registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), The Living Evidence Foundation (LEF), has said that the escape route to unemployment is the acquisition of skills.

LEF said this through its president, Comrade Ehizuenlen Evidence, while commenting on the state of the Nigerian economy and the way forward for Nigeria youths. According to Mr. Evidence “there is need for a change of mind -set that nothing good can come from Nigeria.”

“We must not travel abroad to live a better life in Nigeria. We have many young and old entrepreneurs that are making millions on a daily basis in Nigeria without traveling abroad.

“We need to have the right mind-set and embrace skill acquisition as an escape route to unemployment, just as it has helped me in the past,” the best graduating male student of the department of Animal and Environmental Biology, University of Benin (2007/2008) session, said.

The young entrepreneur called on public office holders to also change their mind-set of accumulating wealth for their unborn generations to the detriment of the people. “Rather, they should use public funds prudently for the betterment of the poor masses,” he said. He reiterated that when the basic needs of man is provided for the people, they will not bother themselves to start thinking of traveling abroad for greener pastures.

The LEF boss also called on parents to be quick in discovering the talents and potentials God has inputed in their children and encourage them to effectively utilize them. He said the children should be encouraged to study courses and acquire skills that are in line with their God’s given talents.
