BENIN CITY – Igarashi community, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Edo, has lauded Gov. Godwin Obaseki, for his promise to them, following the robbery attack which claimed 10 lives in the area early this month.
The community made the commendation in a statement signed by the Igarra Palace Secretary, Elder Folorunsho Dania, which was made available to newsmen in Benin on Thursday.
Those killed during the bank robbery in which the hoodlums could not cart away money, included three of the suspected robbers and a police officer.
Obaseki, during his visit to the community after the incident, promised financial support to the families of those killed by the robbers and to help strengthen the vigilante in the area.
“The community is very grateful. We were saddened by the incident and the loss of lives but the coming of the governor and what he promised gave us hope.
“We appreciate what he is doing and the support he is getting from his team, particularly his Chief of Staff who is our son.
“The community commends his proposed new security architecture for the state and we appreciate his appeal that the banks should reopen for business to help the people,” they said
