BENIN CITY – In spite of the postponement of league resumption nationwide, Bendel Insurance FC of Benin have continued to maintain their training routine programme,with friendly matches arranged to keep the players in shape ahead the second stanza of the current season.
The Edo soccer giant have played five friendly matches within a space of two weeks, winning four and one draw .
The Insurers defeated Rockers FC of Benin today 3 -1 and recorded same feat against Royal Force yesterday at the university of Benin sports complex as they entertained the university community fans.
In their other engagements, the Insurers beat Smart City FC of Lagos 2-0 in FA Cup runners-up friendly before Yak FC later forced them to a 2-2 draw.
The management has lined up more friendlies for the team before league resumption
Insurance are currently leaders of the NNL group B1 with 14 points from seven games and are being trailed by old rivals Shooting Stars of Ibadan who have 13 points from six games.
The insurers hope to maintain the lead as they work on players confidence and winning mentality towards achieving their major target of promotion to NPFL.
