BENIN CITY – The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Ewuare II has assured the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Edo State, Mr. Anthony Oko of Palace support and hospitality.
Oba Ewuare II gave the assurance when the new Sector Commander led other top officers of the corps on a courtesy visit to the Oba in his Palace.
His Royal Majesty acknowledged the role of the Corps Marshals in accident prevention and safety of lives on the highways, and urged them not to relent in their service to the nation.
The Omo N’Oba wished Mr. Anthony Oko well in his assignment and pray to God and the ancestors to keep them out of harm’s way while discharging their official duties.
Earlier, the FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Anthony Oko said he was in the Palace to solicit for fatherly advice, support and prayers to enable him and his team succeed in the onerous task.
Mr. Oko said though their job was a humanitarian one, but it required the assistance of individuals, agencies and stakeholders, and promised to do his best to protect lives and property of those who use the highways.
The Benin Monarch also received the new Area Commander of the newly created Oba Market Area Command of the Police Force, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isah, who was in the Palace to introduce himself to the Omo N’Oba and seek for support and Royal blessings.
Mr. Danladi said his Area Command is in charge of Oba Market, Airport Road, Textile Mill Road, Evbuotubu, Okhoro and New Benin Police Divisions and solicited for the Palace assistance in securing office accommodation and vehicle for the new Area Command, in order for the officers to be able to discharge their duties effectively.
The Oba of Benin told the Assistant Commissioner of Police that his requests would be looked into and enjoined him to do his job diligently.
