WARRI – The 20th Annual Conference for the African Council of Communication Education scheduled to hold from the 23rd to the 26th of October is to be hosted by School of Media and Communication(SMC), Pan Atlantic University.

The conference, tagged “PAU 2018”, with the theme “Communication, Migration and Inclusiveness” will bring together scholars, researchers and other stakeholders in the communication value chain.

With over 350 participants drawn from over 80 institutions, from within and outside Nigeria, the conference which aims to address the various challenges associated with migration, fueled by economic, political or social reason and internal displacements occasioned by terrorism and other socio-political factors; will take place at the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, Lekki Campus.

Members of the conference are to address the various challenges associated with migration, fueled by economic, political or social reasons, and internal displacements caused by terrorism and other Socio-political factors. With this focus, the African Council for Communication Education (ACCE) seeks to explore the role of communication in highlighting and resolving some of the attendant challenges.

It is hoped that the conference, among other things, will make an important contribution towards the formulation of policy as well as promote research in this area.

ACCE is the biggest association and forum for media entrepreneurs, professionals, educators in journalism and associated disciplines in Africa. It has branches in many countries on the continent and its headquarters is domiciled in Nairobi, Kenya.

The School of Media and Communication is a school within Pan-Atlantic University, which was created to be an institution for learning and developing competent media and communication professionals. The School’s programmes prepare students for careers in the creative industries, in business generally, and in various public and private domains.
