BENIN CITY – Unknown persons suspected to be hoodlums at the early hours of Wednesday morning broke into the office of the Editor, Nigerian Observer, Sir Barr. Solomon Imohiosen carting away important documents and a laptop worth ever N300, 000.00

The Editor who left his office on Tuesday at about 11:00pm discovered the robbery incident when he came to his office at about 1:30pm.

Some items taken away included a folder which contained his Edo State government staff identity card and National Identity card. His drawers were opened and turned upside down.

According to the Editor, he is unable to ascertain other items, until he sorts out his other documents kept in the office.

“I am perplexed and horrified at this dastardly act. I’ve lost vital information that I work with stored inside my laptop. I wonder why my office should be a focus of attack by hoodlums, I can’t really say where this is coming from,” the Editor lamented.

However, report of the incident has been incidented at the Aideyan Police station, where a female police officer was dispatched to view scene of the incident and make a report.

The management and members of staff of the Bendel Newspapers Company Limited, publishers of the Nigerian Observer expressed sadness and shock over the robbery incident.
